A native of Toronto, Canada and graduate of George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology, Lisa played an integral role in Ontario’s design community before moving to the United States in 2004. Independently and as part of a team, she has worked on creative projects for Ernest and Julio Gallo Wines, Humber College, the Canadian Wholesale Drug Association and numerous publishing houses including: Harcourt, McGraw Hill, Holt Rinehart & Winston, Penquin, and more.. Before joining Jean Peterson Design in 2007, Lisa served as creative director and graphic designer at Garbo Design House in Frederick, working with clients that included Grapevine Home and Travel magazine, Frederick County Guide, Tarara Winery and Village Development Group.
Among many other projects, Lisa’s years of publication design experience are put to work at Jean Peterson Design producing the Tourism Council of Frederick County, MD visitor guide Destination Frederick County. In 2007 the guide was honored with the Maryland State Tourism Award, Best Visitor Guide. Additionally, her work has been recognized at the New York Book Show, she has received prestigious American Graphic Design Awards, along with numerous Gold and Silver ADDYs from the Greater Frederick Advertising Association. Currently Lisa is in her 4th year on the association’s board of directors, having co-chaired 2 ADDY Awards and currently is serving as Public Service Chair as well as Treasurer Officer. Lisa was recently awarded a US Army Freedom Team Salute Commendation and, on behalf of the club, Lisa and the GFAF board received a United States flag flown over a US operating base in Afghanistan on Veteran’s Day in honor of Lisa and the GFAF’s tireless efforts for the troops.
